End of my meat loving ways
I admit it I love meat but as an animal lover who regularly fundraises for a local small animal charity I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable with my carnivorous diet. So it's time for a change and I've had my last bacon sarnie this morning and I'm on a 30 day challenge before deciding whether to be a vegan full time or go back to my meat loving ways.
My parents think I'm nuts and I've been coerced by all these animal rescue people I spend time with which is most definitely not the case and at I wont last five minutes. This is not a split second decision to become a vegan it's been a life long battle about loving meat abut hating cruelty so I'm going to give it a go and go vegan.
My other reason for going this a go is that I'm looking for a healthier diet as someone who is very overweight and really not happy about it I wonder if I can find the path to a healthy diet where I a, fuller for longer but still getting the nutrients I need to stay healthy but lose some weight and feel better about myself. Research shows that vegan diets are lower in saturated fat, cholesterol and carbohydrates and can help combat illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease. With things like Alzheimer's and cancer risks also being reduced.
So let's give it a try I'm going for it and if I fail and give into eating meat again then I'm going to give £100 to Rescue Me Animal Sanctuary in Merseyside who rescue abandoned unwanted small animals such as guinea pigs, cats, hamsters, rabbits and the occasional more exotic resident. If I succeed then I'm still going to give money but I'll double it to £200.
